Wandsworth Council selects Diamond Special Works for £1.7m refurbishment project

Wandsworth Council has awarded Diamond Special Works a £1.7m contract to refurbish two residential towers in Battersea.

Sparkford & Selworthy House, which form part of the Somerset Estate, each span 21 storeys and comprise a total of 160 homes. The 26-week project involves external improvements to both buildings, including roof upgrades, the overhauling of windows, installation of new aluminium windows on the ground floors, and concrete and brick repairs to the façade.

The scope of works also includes internal decoration to common parts as well as the installation of suspending ceilings, lighting and door upgrades.

Paul Hoskins, Managing Director of Diamond Special Works, said: “This contract builds on our long-standing relationship with Wandsworth Council. We have worked with the local authority for more than a decade, delivering a range of refurbishment work across its estates.

“The renovations at Sparkford & Selworthy House will need to be carefully managed as the homes will remain occupied throughout the work and a significant amount of scaffolding will be needed. A local resident liaison officer will be employed to ensure those living in the blocks are kept safe and informed throughout the process.”

Recent projects completed by Diamond Special works for Wandsworth Council include the refurbishment of six residential towers at Alton estate and a window renewal programme at Convent Estate.
